Seafood Tonight, Drive Home Tomorrow
This is Marnie and John across the table, waiting on seafood. It's been a good week. We'll make the drive home tomorrow. Time to pull the curtain on summer '09. Back in the office on Monday and then school starts on the 25th.
What I'm doing here is quite simple. I'm trying to learn how to pray. I've become fairly adept at saying prayers. Being a pastor, I get plenty of practice at that. But a life of prayer eludes me. What you'll read here are my efforts to learn a life of prayer - efforts that are hit and miss, start and stop, deeply earnest and sometimes half-hearted. More often than not, I'm coming at this endeavor with the written text of scripture as a starting point. Much of what you'll read here is shared daily with the congregation of the Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia. If you're interested in pursuing a life of prayer, I hope you'll return often. Share your own struggles and insights. Honestly, I need all the help I can get and I'll welcome all the friends I can find.
